A Message from Rob

I want to thank everyone that has taken time out of their busy schedule to participate in our third annual dinner and golf tournament. Our previous two events were highly successful resulting in key donations made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year all proceeds will be to support the Save of the Day Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that I founded this past year. We added an additional event in 2003 which is a Celebrity Softball Game played at Donovan Stadium in Utica, New York involving members of the National Hockey League playing members of the Utica Fire Department. In all of these events, our intent is to thank those who give so generously, bring recognition to our Region and help those children with life threatening illnesses in the Mohawk Valley.

The Save of the Day Foundation is a 501c-3 Non-Profit Organization that will provide financial assistance to children with life threatening illnesses and their families living in New York’s Mohawk Valley. In our first two years of running the Robert Esche Dinner and Golf Tournament, we contributed all proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation with which we have developed a strong relationship. We see this relationship continuing. Starting this year, The Save of the Day Foundation will be our primary focus for funding. This organization truly represents our commitment to this Region by ensuring that a key support criteria resides within the Mohawk Valley. Applications for support may be made through the Foundation with decisions on funding levels being made by our diverse volunteer Board of Directors.

For my guests from the National Hockey League, our Corporate Sponsors, my family and the many volunteers, please accept my gratitude for making the 3rd Annual Robert Esche Dinner and Golf Tournament a huge success. If we are to impact the lives of those we intend to serve, it takes your commitment to stand forth and take on this challenge. You should be proud because you have all done so.
